Kansai Area Pass [ For the Kansai (Keihanshin) Area)]
 

Pass Description :


1) This pass is valid for getting on and getting off a non-reserved seat of the Haruka Limited Express as well as local trains (including rapid-service and special rapid-service trains) in the designated area operated by West Japan Railway Co.
(JR West).

2) It cannot be used for boarding Shinkansen super express trains. When boarding a train other than a Shinkansen super express train, such as a limited express or express train, it is necessary to separately pay the applicable charges for these and other trains.
 
 ■ Availability to use
  • A rail pass are available all year round. (The rail pass may be purchased up to 1 month in advance of the first day of use.)
  • A rail pass can be used at any time of the year. (There are no times at which the rail pass use is restricted.)
Changes
  • You date from which a rail pass is valid cannot be changes.
  • The type of a rail pass cannot be changed.
Refunds
  • The sale price of the rail pass minus a handling fee will be refunded only for a valid, unused rail pass (and only if reserved seats are cancelled before the departure time of trains.) Refunds will be given at the location where the rail pass was exchanged or issued. Handling fee: 10% of the sale price(Japanese Yen) per one rail pass.
  • No refunds will be given if you remove the magnetic ticket from the rail pass book.
  • No refunds will be given after you start to use the rail pass.
  • No refunds will be given after the rail pass is expired.
  • No refunds will be given due to non-availability of service, delays, or similar issues.
Miscellaneous Information
  • A rail pass is only valid for the rail pass holder. They cannot be transferred to other passengers.
  • Carry your passport with you at all times when using your rail pass and present it to a JR staff if asked.
  • A rail pass is void if the seal used to attach the magnetic ticket to the rail pass book is removed.
  • You cannot board a train using only the magnetic ticket or only the rail pass book.
  • Details recorded on a rail pass will not be changed.
  • A rail pass will not be reissued even if lost or stolen.
  • Other conditions of use are as stipulated by the JR-WEST conditions of carriage and the laws of Japan.
    Conditions of use for exchange orders are as stipulated by regulations and contracts of the issuing company.
  • A rail pass entitles the user to a "Rail & Rent-a-car" discount on rental vehicles when presented at a sales location
    or a designated Eki Rent-a-car branch.
    * Applicable Eki Rent-a-car branches: All Eki Rent-a-car branches within the area covered by the relevant rail pass.
      (Except for Kokura and Hakata branches.)
    * Rent-a-car tickets will only be changed or refunded on a ticket-by-ticket basis. (Relevant fees apply.)
  • If any discrepancies arise between the English and Japanese versions of the conditions of carriage, the Japanese version shall have precedence.

Sanyo Area Pass [For the Osaka - Sanyo Area]

Pass Description :

1) It allows for unrestricted boarding and unboarding, within the designated area, of the following trains operated by West Japan Railway Co. (JR West) : "Nozomi", "Hikari" and "Kodama" Sanyo Shinkansen super express trains, " Haruka" limited express trains, ordinary cars of local trains (both reserved and free-seating), and the Miyajima ferry line in Hiroshima.

• in cases of reserved seats :
A reserved-seat ticket (at no extra charge) at a ticket office "Midori-no-madoguchi" at stations of the West Japan Railway Co. before boarding the train.

Seat reservations
  • Obtaining a reserved seat ticket
    When using trains that require the purchase of reserved seat tickets or other additional tickets, obtain such tickets at sales locations before boarding.
  • Canceling reservations
    Reservations can be cancelled after the rail pass holder has obtained a reserved seat ticket as long as it is before the
    departure time of the reserved train.
  • Boarding a train without making advance seat reservations
    - A rail pass holders who have not made seat reservations may use ordinary non-reserved seats on applicable trains.
    - If there are empty reserved seats after boarding, the rail pass holder may use ordinary reserved seats as long as there  
      is no operational problem.
    - In the case that the rail pass holder is unable to use ordinary reserved seats, the difference between fares for reserved
      and non-reserved seats will not be refunded.
Changes
  • You cannot change the date from which a rail pass is valid.
  • The type of a rail pass cannot be changed.

 ENTRY VISA (S) AND TRANSIT VISA (S) REQUIREMENT
 In order to ensure a smooth and hassle free trip, we would like to seek your kind attention to take special notice of the following important reminders :
  • Passengers' name in the booking must be spelt exactly in the same manner as stated in the passenger's passports.
  • Passports should still have a minimum of 6 months validity upon completion of the journey.
  • It is the passenger's responsibility to obtain all Entry Visa or Transit Visa that are required to enter the country of destination or stopovers.
  • Transit Visas must be duly obtained if the plane's flight path involved a Transit or Stopover in another country like for example, a Transit in Australia whilst en route to New Zealand or a stopover in the United States whilst en route to Canada.
  • Passengers are advised to check carefully for any errors or omissions in the booking details, flight itineraries, air tickets, and hotel vouchers IMMEDIATELY upon receiving them. Please take note you may encounter significant inconveniences and may even have your travel plans aborted if errors are discovered only enroute or upon check-in at the Changi Airport.
