What is the Hokkaido Rail Pass?
Ride all the trains in Hokkaido
with just this pass!
If you have a Hokkaido Rail Pass, you can ride all JR trains
and some designated JR buses within Hokkaido. This allows you
to ride trains and buses without having to buy tickets each
time, and you don't have to worry about language barriers. |

How to purchase
Purchase voucher and exchange it for your rail pass at
supporting stations here in Hokkaido. * Entering Japan on a Tourist
Visa is the condition for purchasing the pass. |

■ Caution for purchasing and exchanging
- The time limit for exchanging your rail pass is
3 months
- The price of the exchange voucher is subject to
change according to the exchange rate

■ How to use reserved seating
There is reserved
seating on the Limited Express, Express, Rapid Airport, and Sightseeing
trains. Present your Hokkaido Rail
Pass at the station ticket counter and state the date,
train name and zone you wish to use and a reserved seat ticket will be
issued at no extra charge. When tickets are inspected
aboard the train be sure to present both your rail pass and reserved
seat ticket to the conductor.
* Please use the free seats when the reserved seats are
full
* If you decide to change your seat or train after the
reserved seat ticket has been issued, please go to the ticket counter
before the departure time.
* If you miss the train with your reserved seat ticket,
please take the next train and use the free seating
* Issuance of a reserved seat ticket can only be made
after you have exchanged or purchased the Hokkaido Rail Pass.
Please understand that reservations
for reserved seats cannot be made outside of the country.

■ Caution
- Please go through wickets with staff. Do not use the automatic
ticket wickets.
- Your ticket cannot be re-issued. Please take good care of it.
- Only persons with a pass bearing the pass holder's name can use
the pass.
- No refunds are available for delayed or cancelled trains.
- Refunds are not available for passes that are already in use.

TRANSIT VISA (S) REQUIREMENT |
| In order to ensure a smooth and
hassle free trip, we would like to seek your kind attention to take special
notice of the following important reminders : |
- Passengers' name in the booking must be spelt exactly in
the same manner as stated in the passenger's passports.
- Passports should still have a minimum of 6 months
validity upon completion of the journey.
- It is the passenger's responsibility to obtain all Entry
Visa or Transit Visa that are required to enter the country of destination or
stopovers.
- Transit Visas must be duly obtained if the plane's
flight path involved a Transit or Stopover in another country like for example,
a Transit in Australia whilst en route to New Zealand or a stopover in the
United States whilst en route to Canada.
- Passengers are advised to check carefully for any errors
or omissions in the booking details, flight itineraries, air tickets, and hotel
vouchers IMMEDIATELY upon receiving them. Please take note you may encounter
significant inconveniences and may even have your travel plans aborted if errors
are discovered only enroute or upon check-in at the Changi Airport.
