Greetings from our Tour Director as we head to Dover for our sea crossing to Calais in France. We have views of Vimy Ridge, location of the Canadian war memorial commemorating the many lives lost during the First World War, with further reminders as we cross the Somme battlefields, before continuing southwards to the glittering city of Paris, Europe's most romantic city. Later, we enjoy a Welcome Drink together - the ideal way to get to know our Tour Director and fellow travellers.

Guided sightseeing today shows us the Champs Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Opera House and Notre Dame Cathedral. We also take the lift to the second level of the Eiffel Tower for spectacular views over the city! Later you may wish to visit the Louvre Museum and check out the inverted glass pyramid made famous by the Da Vinci Code. Tonight, don’t miss the opportunity to take in a Parisian cabaret, birthplace of them can-can!

  • Day 3 - Paris - Basel - Lucerne
An early start today as we drive through the Auxerrois and Burgundy vineyards, passing the Castle of Châteauneuf. Past the remains of the Maginot Line at Belfort we reach the Swiss border at Basel and continue to lakeside Lucerne, where an orientation tour shows us the wooden covered Chapel Bridge and the poignant Lion Monument. This evening after dinner at our hotel, perhaps enjoy a drink in one of the cosy bars along the banks of the River Reuss.

Here we skirt around the vast commercial capital of Milan, before heading eastwards to the magical and truly unique city of Venice. ( Buffet Breakfast / Dinner )
