Day
1 - Arrive Rome ( 2 nights )
Welcome to Rome! After hotel check-in, time to relax and unwind.
The rest of the day is free to explore on your own. This evening
enjoy a Welcome Drink with your Tour Director and fellow
travellers. Later, maybe enjoy a guided tour of the Eternal City
by night featuring wonderful Piazza Navona?

Day 2 - Rome
Sightseeing and At Leisure
Our guided morning sightseeing tour
features a visit of the magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica in the
Vatican City, highlighting Michelangelo’s emotive sculpture, the 'Pieta'. We
drive by Piazza Venezia to admire the Victor Emmanuel II Monument which houses the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Then we see the Scared Way and overlook the Roman Forum and of course see the infamous Colosseum of the Emperor Nero, renowned as the scene of gladiatorial combat. Later, perhaps visit the Sistine Chapel or wander round the medieval quarter and stop to throw some coins into the Trevi Fountain to ensure a return visit to Rome!

Day 3 -
Rome
– Venice
We head north this morning from Rome following the valley of the River Tiber. Then we enter Umbria and see the impressive hilltop towns of Orte and Orvieto, before entering Tuscany. Here we see the Chianti vineyards and the terraced olive groves before crossing through the forested Apennine hills. We pass Bologna and reach the flat Veneto plain and continue to our hotel in the region of magical Venice where we dine tonight. ( Buffet Breakfast / Dinner )

Day 4 -
Venice Sightseeing – Milan
Our private motor launch takes us
on a canal cruise to St. Mark’s Square to admire the Bridge of
Sighs and the Doge’s Palace. Then we visit a traditional
glass-blowing factory, with free time to shop afterwards. Later we head westwards for the vast commercial capital city of Milan where we see the impressive cathedral and the elegant Galleria on arrival. ( Buffet Breakfast / Dinner ) Hotel: Novotel Milano Nord

Day 5 -
Milan - St. Gotthard - Lucerne
Today we drive northwards to the Swiss border and take the scenic St. Gotthard route through Alpine landscapes to beautiful lakeside Lucerne. On arrival we will visit the poignant Lion Monument and see the covered wooden Chapel Bridge and quaint old town. Then perhaps take an exhilarating mountain excursion and still have time to shop for Swiss watches and delicious chocolate! ( Buffet Breakfast / Dinner ) Hotel: Schiller

Day 6 -
Lucerne - Basel - Paris ( 2 nights )
This morning we drive northwards
via Basel in Switzerland and into France, we pass Belfort and
remnants of the Maginot Line - the planned defence against an
invading Germany in the Second World War. We pass wonderful Burgundy Vineyards, before passing the imposing Castle of Chateauneuf on our way to Paris. Tonight, why not enjoy a relaxing Seine River cruise and a tour of the glittering illuminations? ( Buffet Breakfast ) Hotel: Holiday Inn La Villette

Day 7 -
Paris Sightseeing and At Leisure
Our guided sightseeing this morning
includes views of Notre Dame, on the City Island, the ascent of
the Eiffel Tower by lift to the second level for magnificent
views over the whole city, the Champs Elysées and the golden dome of the church of Les Invalides. Later perhaps visit
the Château of Versailles, the extravagant creation of Louis
XIV, or maybe later enjoy fantastic French cabaret at the famous Moulin Rouge. Tonight, with our Tour Director and fellow travellers, we celebrate the end of our European tour together at a Farewell Dinner with wine in a local restaurant! ( Buffet Breakfast / Farewell Dinner )

Day 8 -
Paris - Channel Ferry - London
Today we drive across the Somme battlefields and pass Vimy Ridge
en route to Calais. Here we board our ship to sail across the Channel to the White Cliffs of Dover and make our way by coach throught Kent, the 'Garden of England', to London where our tour must come to an end. ( Buffet Breakfast )
