Itinerary

Day 1    London - Paris (2 nights)
First we take the Channel ferry to Calais and drive across World War I battlefields, and visit the Vimy Ridge Memorial. Then we travel on to Paris, where we enjoy a Welcome Drink.       Hotel: Renaissance la Defense
Day 2    Paris sightseeing & at leisure
First we take the Channel ferry to Calais and drive across World War I battlefields, and visit the Vimy Ridge Memorial. Then we travel on to Paris, where we enjoy a Welcome Drink.
Day 3   Paris - Chartres - Bordeux

Our first stop is at Chartres, renowned for its cathedral's windows. Then we continue on to the Loire at Tours and the wine-region of Bordeaux for the night. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)     Hotel: Mercure Meriadeck Centre
Day 4  Bordeux - Lourdes
Through the vineyards of Sauternes and Graves to Lourdes where we see the basilica on top of St. Bernadette's grotto. Why not join the torchlit procession to the basilica this evening (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)    Hotel: Mercure Imperial  
Day 5    Lourdes - Pau - Biarritz - Burgos

After breakfast, we head to medieval Pau, then on to seaside Biarritz. Then into Spain and Burgos with its gothic cathedral. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

Day 6   Burgos - Madrid (2 nights)
Our morning drive takes us across the Sierra de Guadarrama to Madrid. This afternoon we enjoy a guided tour of the Prado Museum, Spain’s greatest art gallery. (Buffet breakfast)      Hotel: Holiday Inn 
Day 7   Madrid sightseeing & at leisure
Our morning sightseeing tour features the Royal Palace and Plaza de España. Then time at leisure or take an optional excursion to the Valley of the Fallen. (Buffet breakfast)
Day 8    Madrid - Barcelona (2 nights)
We pass Guadalajara and the Gorges of Jalon and enter Aragon. See the ruins of the Castle of Somayen en route to Barcelona. (Bufffet breakfast)

Day 9   Barcelona sightseeing & at leisure
The old Cathedral and art nouveau fantasies of Gaudi highlight our sightseeing tour. Tonight, why not experience the passion of a fiery flamenco show. (Buffet breakfast)
Day 10    Barcelona - Cannes (2 nights)

We drive to the fashionable resort of Cannes. Our Highlight Dinner is at a typical French restaurant this evening. (Buffet breakfast / Highlight dinner)

Day 11    Cannes - Monaco & Perfumery Excursion
First to Monaco where we see the Royal Palace and the cathedral where Princess Grace is buried. Today our Tour Director will share a surprising Hidden Treasure with us! Later, we will visit a perfumery before returning to Cannes. (Buffet breakfast)
Day 12   Cannes - Pisa - Montecatini
After breakfast this morning we drive past Genoa, Columbus' birthplace, before arriving in Pisa to view the incredible Leaning Tower. Then on to the popular spa town of Montecatini for the night. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)     Hotel: Minerva Palace
Day 13    Montecatini - Florence - Assisi
Our guided walking tour of Florence features the cathedral, baptistery, Santa Croce Basilica, Signoria Square and the Academy to see Michelangelo's statue of David. Time at leisure before continuing to Assisi. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)     Hotel: Windsor Savoid     
Day 14    Assisi - Pompeii - Sorrento
We see the Basilica of St. Francis and the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli. Next, past the Abbey of Monte Cassino before we enjoy a guided walking tour of Pompeii. Finally, on to our hotel in Sorrento. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)      Hotel: Johanna Park
Day 15    Sorrento - Isle of Capri C - Rome (2 nights)
Visit the enchanting Isle of Capri where a guided walking tour takes in the Piazzetta and views over the Faraglioni rocks. Enjoy time on your own before we cruise to Naples and on to Rome. (Buffet breakfast)      Hotel: NHJolly Leonardo da Vinci
Day 16    Rome sightseeing & at leisure
Morning sightseeing will feature a visit to St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican and views of the Forum, the mighty Colosseum and Circus Maximus. Then time is your own to do as you please. (Buffet breakfast)
Day 17    Rome - Venice (Mester) (2 nights)
We drive through the Apennine Mountains, then via Bologna and past Padua to Venice. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)   Hotel: Matrix
Day 18    Venice sightseeing & at leisure
Savour this Byzantine jewel on a canal cruise by private launch to St. Mark's Square, viewing the Bridge of Sighs. After a visit to a glass-blowing factory, time is your own to explore or take a lagoon cruise. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)
Day 19    Venice (Mester) - Vienna (2 nights)
The Carnic Alps herald the Austrian border. We travel across the great Alpine highways en route to Vienna. (Buffet breakfast)      Hotel: Renaissance Wien
Day 20    Vienna sightseeing & at leisure
Our sightseeing tour shows us the Opera, the Hofburg, Stadtpark, Parliament and Imperial Boulevards. The rest of the day is at leisure. (Buffet breakfast)
Day 21    Vienna - Salzburg

We follow the Danube Valley to Salzburg for a guided walking tour. Tonight we enjoy a Highlight Dinner. (Buffet breakfast / Highlight dinner)

Day 22    Salzburg - Innsbruck - Oberammergau
First orientation in Innsbruck, then onto Germany and pretty Oberammergau where we see the Passion Play Theatre and another Hidden Treasure is revealed to us all by our Tour Director. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)     Hotel: Hotel Wittelsbach
Day 23    Oberammergau - Liechtenstein - Lucerne (2 nights)
Via Garmisch Partenkirchen, we travel to the Arlberg region of Austria. Then on to Vaduz, capital of Liechtenstein. Finally, we approach lakeside Lucerne, our home for the next two nights. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)     Hotel: Radisson SAS
Day 24    Lucerne orientation & at leisure
Orientation includes a visit to the famous Lion Monument and the Chapel Bridge. Then the rest of the day is at leisure to shop or relax. (Buffet breakfast)
Day 25    Lucerne - Freiburg - Heidelberg - Rhine Cruise - Boppard

We drive via Freiburg to Heidelberg to view its impressive castle. Next we enjoy a Rhine cruise to Boppard. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

Day 26    Boppard - Amsterdam
We see Cologne’s gothic cathedral, then cross the Dutch border to Amsterdam where first we enjoy a cruise through the canals in our glass topped boat and then a Farewell Dinner. (Buffet breakfast / Farewell dinner)      Hotel: Novotel City
Day 27    Amsterdam - London
Orientation highlights Dam Square and the Mint Tower. Then we drive to Calais for our Channel ferry to Dover and back to London. (Buffet breakfast)
