Itinerary

Day 1     London - Runnymede - Salisbury - Stonehenge - Bideford
This morning we drive to Runnymede where the Magna Carta was signed and then through Windsor Great Park catching a glimpse of Windor Castle. We continue to Salisbury to view its magnificent cathedral, boasting the tallest church spire in Britain! Then to Salisbury Plain to visit the ancient and mysterious monoliths of Stonehenge. Finally a drive past Lorna Doone's famous Exmoor marks our arrival in the Wes Country where we head to the ancient seaport of Bideford. Here we will enjoy a Welcome Drink and dinner with our Tour Director and travelling companions. (Dinner)       Hotel: Durrant house
Day 2      Bideford - Clovelly - Tintagel - Plymouth (2 nights)
Our first stop this morning will be the steeply cobbled village of Clovelly with its loveable donkeys and picturesque cottages. Then into Cornwall and via the little harbour of Boscastle to Tintagel for views of the ruined castle overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Then we enjoy a Devonshire cream tea before we make our way to the historic naval port of Plymouth. Here we see the Mayflowe steps from which the Pilgrim Fathers set sail to America and the Royal Citadel overlooking Plymoouth Sound. (Full breakfast)       Hotel:Jurys Inn
Day 3      Cornish Excurision
We drive along the rugged Cornish coastline past smugglers’ coves and quaint fishing villages to Land’s End the most westerly point of the British mainland. Then to St. Ives, the famous artists’ colony,  and British surfing paradise. Later views of St. Michael’s Mount near Penzance before a drive across Bodmin Moor. During the day our Tour Director will also show us a Hidden Treasure before we return to our hotel. (Full Breakfast)
Day 4      Plymouth - Bath - Bristol
We travel through the rugged Datmoor National Park to Glastonbury where we visit the Abbey ruins and see the legendary tomb of King Arthur. Then we see the mineral beauty of Cheddar Gorge before continuing to the city of Bath where we visit the Roman Baths and see the magnificent Georgian architecture. We overnight in maritime Bristol where we enjoy a Farewell Dinner tonight. (Full Breakfast / Farewell Dinner)       Hotel: Marriott
Day 5      Bristol - Avebury - Hampton Court - London
First we see Avebury, Britain's most ancient stone circle. Then we stop to see the gardens of Hampton Court Palace before returning th London and bidding farewell to our Tour Director and fellow travellers as our tour comes to and end. (Full Breakfast)
