| Day 1 Arrive Rome (2 nights) |
| Greetings from Trafalgar and a warm welcome to Rome, the
Eternal City. After check-in at your hotel, you will have
time to relax and unwind before meeting with your Tour
Director in the afternoon. This evening why not take a
stroll around this fascinating city and admire the fountains
found in every square and on many corners of the city

| Day 2 Rome
sightseeing & at leisure |
| We have an included sightseeing tour with a local guide this
morning who introduces us to this ancient city. The
highlight of the tour is the visit to the awe-inspiring St.
Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican City. Then we cross the
Tiber River to enjoy views of the Forum and the iconic
Colosseum, the scene of gladiatorial combat in ancient Rome.
Later we have time at leisure to explore the city further or
maybe to take an optional excursion to see the catacombs,
the underground burial places of the early Christians, or
maybe to drive out of Rome to visit the splendid Tivoli
Gardens with their unique and ornate fountains. (Buffet

| Day 3 Rome - Bay of Naples (2 nights) |
| Today we head past the Abbey of Monte Cassino to the Bay of
Naples for two relaxing nights. This afternoon, you have the
opportunity to take an optional excursion to enjoy a guided
tour of the remarkable excavations of Pompeii, the town
literally petrified by th e eruption of the volcano,
Vesuvius, in AD 79 (Buffet breakfast / Dinner) Hotel:

| Day 4 Sorrento
Excursion |
| This morning we drive to the nearby resort of Sorrento to
visit an inlaid wood workshop. Then free time to shop on the
Piazza Tasso before maybe taking an optional excursion to
the enchanting Isle of Capri. This former summer home of
Roman emperors is alive with colour and character. This
evening we return to our hotel for dinner. (Buffet breakfast

| Day 5 Bay of
Naples - Assisi |
| Today we drive north to Umbria and the mystic city of St.
Francis, Assisi, which lies on the slopes of Mount Subasio.
On arrival an orientation tour includes St. Francis
Basilica, renowned for its fresco paintings. Dinner is at

| Day 6 Assisi -
Venice (Monastier) (2 nights) |
| This morning we enjoy a scenic drive through the Apennine
Mountains and descend to the flat venetian plain. From here
we continue on to the magical floating city of
Venice. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

| Day 7 Venice orientation & at
leisure |
| Savour the sights and sounds of this serene city as we take
our canal cruise by vaporetto to St. Mark's Square with
views of the Bridge of Sighs, the Doge’s Palace and the
Basilica of St. Mark. We will watch a demonstration of
Murano glass-blowing before time at leisure or maybe take a
trip out into the lagoon for a seafood lunch on the Island
of Burano (Buffet breakfast / Dinner) |
| Day 8 Venice (Monastier) - Italian Lakes

| This morning's drive takes us inland to Shakespeare's
Verona. Here we stop to admire the Roman Arena and see
Juliet's balcony. Finally we travel via Milan to the Italian
Lake District where we spend the next two nights. (Buffet

| Day 9 Lugano Excursion |
| After breakfast we head out on an excursion into Switzerland
and the pretty resort of Lugano. There's time here to
perhaps stroll along the lakeside promenades, pedalo on the
lake and enjoy the wonderful mountain air, before we return
to our hotel. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner) |
| Day 10 Italian Lakes -
Florence (2 nights) |
| We cross the Apennine Mountains coming to Genoa, Columbus'
birthplace. From here we make our way to Pisa where we see
the famous Leaning Tower in the Square of Miracles. Then on
to our hotel in Florence. Later you may wish to enjoy a
wonderful dinner in the Chianti hills – barbecue

| Day 11 Florence sightseeing & at leisure |
| Florence was one of the liveliest and most creative cities
in Europe, so today’s visitor can see some of the world’s
greatest works of art and most magnificent buildings here.
We enjoy a sightseeing tour on foot this morning to see the
marble cathedral, Signoria Square, Santa Croce Basilica and
the baptistery. Afterwards there's time to discover the
artistic works of Donatello or Michelangelo, and shop for
quality leather and gold. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner) |
| Day 12 Florence -
Siena - Rome |
| This morning we drive to nearby Siena, through the
Chianti-wine producing area of Tuscany. Orientation of this
medieval city famous for its Palio Horse Race, reveals its
rich artistic heritage. Then we make our way back to Rome
for our final night – don't forget to throw a coin into the
Trevi fountain to ensure that you will return one

| Day 13 Depart Rome |
| Time to bid farewell to our Tour Director and new-found
friends and say ‘arrivederci Roma’ as our Italian tour comes
to an end and we return home with wonderful
