Welcome to London -  a fascinating city steeped in history, pageantry and traditions which have changed little over the centuries. And yet London still has a vitality that maintains the city's reputation as a cultural trendsetter.

To help you get your bearings, we have included a half day morning sightseeing tour featuring Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace, which will finish in central London. Then London is yours. Explore the British Museum, visit the City of London's business district and the Tower of London. Call in at Madame Tussauds or browse through the National Gallery in Trafalgar Square. Don't miss the Changing of the Guard or a River Thames cruise to Greenwich, home of the Royal Maritime Museum and the Meridian.

Shopping is just as tempting and just as varied. Department stores line Oxford Street and Regent Street. Famous labels parade down Bond Street and along Burlington Arcade. Harrods and the boutiques of Knightsbridge are surely a must. For antiques and curiosities, visit Camden and Portobello Market, or Chelsea's Kings Road. You can make the most of your stay with a selection of optional excursions, from Windsor Castle to Oxford's ornate colleges or even head out to Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon.
