Day 01
- Arrival in Auckland Welcome to Auckland, known as the 'City of
Sails' where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Today
is yours for optional activities.
Stay 1 night in Auckland.
Day 02

Auckland - Waitomo - Rotorua
Travel South through lush Waikato farmland to
Waitomo Caves for a boat ride under a galaxy of glowworms. Continue
east to Rotorua, steeped in Maori culture and history. Tonight enjoy
a Maori Hangi (feast) and concert. Stay 2 nights in Rotorua.
Day 03 -At
Rotorua This morning see roaring geysers and boiling mud pools at Te
Puia thermal area, tame trout at Rainbow Springs and performing
sheep and dogs at the Agrodome. Your afternoon is free.
Day 04 -Rotorua - Wellington You will be transfered to Rotorua Airport for your flight to
Wellington (flight not included). On arrival into Wellington you
will be taken to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to enjoy at
leisure. Stay 1 night in Wellington.
Day 05 - Wellington - Christchurch Cross
the Cook Strait by ferry to the Marlborough Sounds and Picton. The
TranzCoastal train skims the spectacular coastline to Christchurch.
Stay 2 nights in Christchurch.
Day 06 - At Christchurch
A day at leisure to enjoy
the 'Garden City'.
Day 07 -
Christchurch - Dunedin
Travel south across the Canterbury Plains to
Dunedin, the 'Edinburgh of the South'. Arrive early afternoon. Stay
1 night in Dunedin. Please note no
commentary is provided on this journey.
Day 08 - Dunedin - Taieri Gorge -
Queenstown This morning is at leisure in Dunedin. The
Taieri Gorge train passes spectacular gorges and over historic
viaducts to Pukerangi where you join your coach for the remainder of
the journey to Queenstown. Stay 3 nights in Queenstown.
Day 09 - Queenstown - Milford Sound -
Queenstown A
full day tour to Fiordland National Park. Pass through pristine
beech forests and the Homer Tunnel. Board a cruise on the Sound to
view the majesty of Mitre Peak and Bowen Falls. Return to Queenstown
by evening.
Day 10 - At Queenstown
Today is free for you to
enjoy this fabulous alphine resort. We have included the Skyline
Gondola in your tour.
Day 11 -
Queenstown - Glaciers
Travel through the Southern Lakes district to the
Haast Pass and on through dense rainforest broken by rugged coastal
vistas. A shuttle will take you to view on of the glaciers
(seasonal). Stay 1 night in Fox or Franz Josef Glacier townships.
Day 12 - Glaciers - Christchurch Travel north along the narrow, bush clad,
coastal plain past Hokitika, to Christchurch. Board the renowned
TranzAlphine train and travel through Otira Tunnel, over Arthur's
Pass and across the Canterbury Plains. Arrive Christchurch early
evening.
