LIMITED SPECIAL ASSISTANCE

  • (a) Generally we will not allow a person to travel without an Accompanying Passenger unless the person can travel safely without assistance, supervision or both. We do not have the systems, staff or facilities required to assume responsibility for such assistance and supervision
  • However, we do provide limited special assistance services to accommodate customers who require a wheelchair to get to and from the aircraft (see also 5.7), and customers who wish to purchase two seats next to each other
  • (b) Acceptance for carriage of incapacitated persons, persons with an illness or other people requiring special assistance is subject to prior arrangement with us. Passengers with disabilities who have advised us of any special requirements they may have at the time of booking of the seat and been accepted by us, shall not subsequently be refused carriage on the basis of such disability or special requirements. We may charge a fee for providing these special assistance services.
  • (c) Children requiring supervision will not be regarded as able to travel independently on the basis that they may cause a disruption or endanger themselves or others if travelling unaccompanied. Under no circumstances will a child below the age of 15 years be accepted for carriage unless travelling with an Accompanying Passenger (except when the mother of the child is under 15 years of age).
  • (d) An infant under the age of two (2) years at the date of travel may be carried for a fee provided the infant is accommodated in the lap of an Accompanying Passenger. Only one infant is permitted per Accompanying Passenger. We reserve the right not to carry infants less than seven (7) days old. We may in our absolute discretion carry such infants when carriage is expressly sanctioned in writing by a medical practitioner and when the parent of the infant signs a limited liability statement. No collapsible prams or strollers are permitted in the aircraft cabin. Passengers are required to bring their own baby food and baby nappies, as these are not available on board.

For infants not requiring their own seat, proof of age (under 2), is required at check-in (ie passport check).

If you need to use these special services you must make your Booking through Misa Travel Call Centre at 65 65380318.

CARRIAGE OF WHEELCHAIRS

  • Your fully collapsible manual wheelchair, should you require one, may be carried in the hold at no extra charge. We do not provide this facility for an electric/motorised wheelchair. Carriage of wheelchairs shall be subject to such other requirements as we may implement from time to time.
  • Narrow wheelchairs to negotiate the aisle of the aircraft are not available Most Jetstar Asia flights require passengers to use stairs to join or leave the aircraft. If passengers are unable to walk up or down stairs, and to and from their seat, they will not be able to travel on Jetstar Asia.
  • Upon reservation, we will make every effort to provide a wheelchair from airport check-in to the aircraft steps or door (note: Jetstar Asia does not provide an escort to move the wheelchair from check-in to aircraft). Jetstar Asia will not be liable for loss, expense, breach of contract or other damage should we, for any reason, be unable to extend such a service

You may carry some Baggage free of charge provided you comply with our Baggage requirements which are set out below.

~Cabin Baggage: Each passenger (except infants not occupying an aircraft seat) is permitted 1 item of Cabin Baggage and 1
  other small item
(eg laptop, handbag, small suit-pack etc). Dimensions of the main item must not exceed 48cm (width) + 34cm
  (height) + 23cm (depth)
.

  • If the small item is a suit-pack, then it must be non-rigid and unfolded, and the dimensions must not exceed 60cm (width) + 114cm (height) + 11cm (depth).

  • Total weight of all Cabin Baggage must not exceed 7kg.

  • Each piece must be able to fit under the seat in front of you or fit in an enclosed storage compartment in the cabin of the aircraft.

  • If any piece of baggage does not comply with any of these conditions, it must be checked in to the aircraft hold.

~Checked Baggage: Each passenger (except infants not occupying an aircraft seat) is entitled to check in up to 20kg
of baggage for carriage in the aircraft hold at no charge. You are not entitled to baggage in excess of the free baggage allowance
  (see also
6.6), however, at Jetstar Asia's discretion excess baggage (ie above the 20kg allowance) may be accepted for a fee.

  • Passengers must ensure all baggage is packed appropriately before being presented at check in.

  • No single item may exceed 32kg in weight.

  • Bulky items (maximum 2 metres), including but not limited to bicycles, surfboards, skis, golf clubs, snow boards, and cots, if appropriately packed, may be included within the 20kg allowance, subject to space availability.

Checked Baggage will, whenever possible, be carried on the same aircraft as you, unless we decide for safety, security or operational reasons to carry it on an alternative flight. If your Checked Baggage is carried on a subsequent flight we will deliver it to you, unless applicable law requires you to be present for customs clearance.

~Excess baggage

You may not take on board more Cabin Baggage than allowed. You are not entitled to baggage in excess of the free baggage allowance. However, if you check in with more Checked Baggage than your Checked Baggage allowance, at Jetstar Asia's discretion and subject to load, excess baggage (ie above the 20kg allowance) may be accepted for a fee.

  • Pregnancy 36 weeks and above – we will refuse carriage

NO FLIGHT CONNECTIONS PROVIDED

  • Jetstar Asia is a low cost 'point-to-point' airline which does not provide flight connections or baggage transfer. It is the Passenger's responsibility when making bookings to allow time for Baggage collection and recheck. We recommend at least 150 minutes between international flights. While Jetstar Asia will try to carry you and your Baggage in accordance with the date and time of the flights specified, it does not guarantee it will be able to do so. Schedules may change without notice for a range of reasons including but not limited to bad weather, air traffic control delays, strikes, technical disruptions and late inbound aircraft. To the extent permitted by law, Jetstar Asia excludes liability for any costs, expenses, losses or damages incurred by the Passenger as a result of failure to meet a schedule. Travel insurance is recommended.

INFANTS AND UNACCOMPANIED MINORS

  • An infant under the age of two (2) years at the date of travel may be carried for a fee provided the infant is accommodated in the lap of an Accompanying Passenger.
Passengers below the age of 15 must be accompanied by a passenger who's 15 years of age or older, at the time of travel. We regret that we are unable to accept carriage for unaccompanied minors.
